Wow, the sixth issue. The third year coming up. Crazy. Well...not that crazy, I've been around BMX 33 years, 3 is a drop in the bucket. This issue, a road trip to Mass for flatland, AM Hour and Congrats A-Hole Premiere Party, Clifton Skatezone, PJ O'Brien interview and nonsense from me...well...it can't all be great, LOL

Whew, it's hard to believe this has been the 7th year of brokenspokes-BMXNJ. Another wild year of BMX in the only state that matters, New Jersey. The riding coming out of everyone this year has been unreal. Sooo many great edits came out of the riders this year. The NJ BMX blogs were blowing up with great stuff. We hope you all had a good time with the site, magazine and other ancillary stuff we've done and we're looking forward to 2012 and contributing even more to the NJ scene. As far as BMXNJ is concerned we will be keeping up on everything we can with the time and resources that we have. Look for more news, magazines, and other assorted nuttiness from us. Of course, as usual, the site and everything else is only as great as the riders, photographers, videographers and writers who help out. So... 2012 should be insane as every other year.
Personally I want to thank Ed Abbott, Steve Wisbeski, JPR Cycles, Grove Street, all of South Jersey BMX scene, every person who was cool enough to let me put their edit up on the site, all the guys who contributed to the magazine, all our readers, Mike Paton, John Decaprio, basically the entire NJ BMX scene that makes all this stuff worthwhile. Every single time I ask myself, is there any point to this, somebody sends something over or sets something up that makes me think there's still something this old dude can do for the NJ scene.
...and if all goes well, BMXNJ may become even more important to the scene in 2012.
So, from myself, all our contributors, my gal Christine, have a great holiday, may you all have a fantasmo new year and we'll see you out there on the New Jersey BMX scene.

The video posted below is courtesy of Mr. John Malone. John was one of the original Teaneck Streakers. They were one of NJ's first BMX teams put together by none other than a OS legend, Charlie Litsky. These guys went on to have a national caliber pro come from their local group and were some of the winningest riders of their era. What was their era? The FIRST BMX races in the state of New Jersey in Millville. John mentioned these 8mm's to me more than a few times and I'm very happy to say that they are on the web for everyone to see. Kids, check out what us old ferts rode before the days of threadless headsets, threepiece cranks and double butted tubing. This IS the ORIGIN of organized BMX in New Jersey. Much props to John for getting this out there. Ladies and gents, 35 years ago this year...in Millville, New Jersey, this was going down.
